Monastery of St. Yorgi

While we celebrate 23rd April as “The Holiday of National Sovereignty and Children”, it means to meet at Monastery of St. Yorgi to become a pilgrim for Christians. It is also  important to be at St. Yorgi on 23rd April for everybody, not only for Christians.

With its historical structure and legends, St. Yorgi turned into a wish and vow point. As a strong belief, all desires wished on 23rd April at St. Yorgi would be accepted. The person who wishes, takes a bell and a key. If his wish comes true, he brings the bell and the key back next year. Related to an other belief, to be slient while walking through greenwood pathway to church and to wish by tying a rope on a bough over trees makes your wishes come true.
